How has the Chinese New Year been for you, so far?
If you are celebrating this auspicious festival, did you have a good
time welcoming the Monkey?
Are you still enjoying the celebrations and looking forward to a good
year ahead?
We are now in the first or second day of 15 days of celebration of the
Chinese New Year of the Monkey in 2016, depending on which part
of the world or country you are living in and your time zones.
So far, so good,
In fact, it is very good because there were no major unexpected and
unhappy events in the world as we entered the Chinese New Year of
the Monkey. No major terrorist attacks, which are very real threats
we now have to prevent by always being alert and on guard.
How are you doing?
We should give thanks and be very grateful to our Gods, regardless
of our religious beliefs, for keeping us safe.
According to the Chinese legend, the Monkey King has been known
to be very playful and naughty. In the beginning. he used his magical
powers to create havoc and he was the cause of many problems. He
was soon brought under control and he was helpful to many people as
he protected them from danger by fighting and defeating demons, evil
spirits and hostile creatures.
Let’s hope the Monkey will continue to do good and give us a very
good year.
We should not be mischievous like the monkey and cause trouble.
We should always be willing and ready to help other people.
We should protect and hug our loved ones.
Have you hugged the ones you love and shared and spread the
happiness to many people?
Are you having good quality time with your family and friends and
enjoying each other’s sharing and company, while you can?
Are you discussing your aspirations and dreams?
Are you making good use of your time and money to build long term
relationships which can be mutually beneficial?
Or do you have a problem of not enough time or money?
Or are you a human lobster?
We are fortunate that many people were able to celebrate the start of
the Monkey Year, peacefully and very happily with lion dances and
fireworks in many countries all over the world without major adverse
incidents which could have stopped the festivities.
Those of us who are celebrating have been able to have happy and
delicious family reunion dinners on the night of the eve of the New
Year of the Monkey and also catch up with many family members
who we may have not seen for a long time because we were all too
busy with our work.
There are many views by astrologers and feng shui experts on what we
can expect in the Chinese New Year of the Monkey and how different
people, who have the different animal signs in the Chinese Zodiac, are
expected to fare this year.

As the Chinese word for “monkey” sounds very much like the word
for”good”, let us hope that the Monkey will bring many good things
and eliminate all the bad things in the world.
According to the Chinese legend, the Monkey King was born out of a
magic rock, is very strong and immortal. He can be naughty and also
impulsive. But he also has many good traits. He has amazing magical
abilities and is very well known for his intelligence, resourcefulness,
bravery, fearlessness, perseverance and loyalty to his master.
The Monkey King has several heavenly friends who can use their very
powerful magic to help him in his mission to protect people from bad
and evil forces.
Let’s hope the Monkey will bring good fortune and a good New Year
to the whole world and he will triumph over evil, so that we can live
in peace and enjoy our lives.
