If you are too busy doing your daily chores or working in your
job or business, this is a gentle reminder that the day 29th of
February 2016 is a very special day because 2016 is a leap
year!
In case you have forgotten, we can only see a leap year come
into our calendar every four years!
Do you have any plans to do anything special on this special
leap day?
Do you know how this idea of “leap year” started?
If you go back to read some History books, you will find that
the origin of “leap days” was related to the planets!
It had something to do with the aligning of our calendar with
the revolutions of the Earth around the Sun!
Apparently, if we did not have an extra day of the 29th of
February in every four years, six hours would be lost every
year! And after one hundred years, we could have lost many
days from our calendar which would be all messed up!
Imagine that!
If we did not have “leap years”…
We could be having much less days in our calendar!
And much less time to do all the things we want to do!
And we would have grown older much faster!!
We are very fortunate that some guys prevented all this by
coming out with the “leap year” idea, a very long time ago!
It has been reported that it was Julius Caesar who was the
first to “create” the first “leap year” in about 46 B.C.
However, his Julian calendar “formula” caused too many
leap years to be formed!
It was only after more than 1,500 years that Pope Gregory
XIII started his Gregorian calendar and performed some
complicated calculations that could have led to the new
concept of a leap year coming only in every four years!
Have you wondered why these guys created an extra day
in some years?
They probably came up with this ingenious idea to give
them more time to beat deadlines!
Do you agree?
Thanks to these guys, we now have an extra day in the
month of February, every four years.
We have a “leap month” in every four years.
This sounds very cool, doesn’t it?
Having an extra day or extra 24 hours is awesome, isn’t it?
How are you going to use this extra time?
Time is very precious.
We often do not have enough time to do the many things we
want to get done.
Time or money? Which do you want more of if you can only
choose one?
Google has also got into the action to mark this special day of
29th February 2016 and is using the image of a jumping rabbit
to leap in between the 28th February and 1st March.
Very creative!
Very cute!
Some countries even have other leap months!
Some people say that in every three years, a whole leap month
is actually added to the Chinese calendar! The position of the
leap month is different in different years!
Looks like people were very creative when it came to finding
ways to have extra time! This is probably to enable them to do
all the things that they wanted to do!
Some people say that it’s acceptable for a woman to propose to
a man on the 29th of February!
And some also say that according to some traditions, a woman’s
marriage proposal cannot be refused by a man!
Wow!
Isn’t this wonderful?
This 29th of February is a great day for many ladies!
Do you know that due to the concept of the leap year, new
words and meanings were added to the dictionary?
Have you heard of “leaplings” and “leapers”?
They are words for people born on leap days.
Technically speaking, these people can only grow older every
four years!
Is this why you can see some people who do not seem to grow
old quickly?
Do you wish you could have been born on a leap day just to be
like them?
How nice it would be if we can really delay aging just by being
born on a leap day!
Now, before someone regrets and feels sad for not being born on
a leap day and not being to enjoy staying young longer…!
We must remember that we are all humans and are living in the
real world!
There is no way for anyone to escape aging just by being born
on a leap day!
If you want to know how to feel and look younger and delay
or reverse aging in our real world, you can read more if you
go to this article…
These “leaplings” or “leapers” will still grow older every year
just like normal people!
They just celebrate their birthdays on the 28th of February or
the 1st of March in the years that do not have the day of 29th
of February.
If you are born on a leap day, you can join communities which
are formed by people just like you and you can all enjoy many
activities and celebrate together.
This 29th of February is a very special day since it only comes
every four years!
To all those born on a leap day, Happy Birthday and may you
have many more happy ones to come!
To everyone, Happy Leap Year Day 2016!
Hope you will make very good use of this extra day!
